Lawrence Police Department and Douglas County Sheriff's Office Jointly Apply for Grant

The Lawrence Police Department and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office have applied for the 2014 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program Award. This joint application is for $43,571 and is for digital recording technology, storage and training. 2014 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Formula Program: Local Solicitation
Applicant: Lawrence Kansas Police Department, 111 East Eleventh Street, Lawrence, Kansas
Project Identifier: Communications; Equipment-Video/Audio; Equipment-General; Conference and Training
Project Title: Improve quality of police interview room recordings
Project Goal: Improve quality of police interview room recordings
Strategy: Grant funds will be used to purchase equipment that will substantially improve the quality, both audio and video, of interview rooms in two buildings.
Deliverables: Communications equipment: Video and audio equipment as well as computer and storage infrastructure to allow for secure storage and access of interview room recordings.
