4th of July Festivities for Baldwin City, Eudora, and Lawrence

There will be fireworks displays at three Douglas County locations...Baldwin City, Eudora, and Lawrence. <b>LAWRENCE</b>- Run by the Lawrence Jaycee's, this event is FREE to the public. There will be no parking at the park itself, but there will be parking at the VFW at 138 Alabama, which is at the entrance to the park. There will also be bus rides provided on Lawrence Bus Co. buses from downtown parking lots to the park. They will be turning Indiana into a one-way street North of 6th St. The events will include a live band and the main event; a spectacular fireworks show which starts at 9:45pm. <b>Where:</b> Burcham Park by the Kansas River <b>When:</b> <li>6:00pm</li> - Park is open to the public <li>7:30pm</li> - Live band "Alfred Packard Memorial String Band" starts <li>9:45pm</li> - Fireworks start and last for 30-45 min. <b>Directions to Burcham Park</b> <b>From the Kansas Turnpike (I-70)</b> take West Lawrence exit #202, and take a left turn at the stoplight onto US 59/40. Take US 59/40 South over the bridge, and take an immediate right onto 6th St. Take 6th St. West 9 blocks to Maine St., then turn right (North). Go up 4 blocks to 2nd St., and turn right (East). Go down 1 block to 2nd St. & Alabama, and park at the VFW at 138 Alabama. Then walk East on 2nd St. to Burcham Park, which is located NE of 2nd & Indiana. There will be no parking at Burcham Park. <b>From south of Burcham Park,</b> take 6th St. to Maine St., then turn North. Go up 4 blocks to 2nd St., and turn right (East). Go down 1 block to 2nd St. & Alabama, and park at the VFW at 138 Alabama. Then walk East on 2nd St. to Burcham Park, which is located NE of 2nd & Indiana. Festivities, which include games & entertainment, will begin at 5pm.Get a Map <b>EUDORA</b> - The Eudora fireworks display will begin after dark in the Eudora High School parking lot. Festivities, which includes a community band concert, obstacle course, DJ and activities for children, will start around 6:30pm.
