Wild Horse & Burro Workshop 2002

09/23/2002
This year's event will be held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, 2110 Harper Road in Lawrence from September 23 to September 29, 2002. On September 28, the BLM will hold an adoption where several of the approximately 90 wild horses and 30 wild burros will have received some hands-on gentling during the week-long event. The Wild Horse & Burro Workshop 2002 was conceived and initiated by Least Resistance Training Concepts, Inc., (LRTC) and supported by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The 2002 Wild Horse and Burro Workshop marks the fifth year of the Workshop's existence. LRTC and the BLM sponsor and coordinate the workshops to benefit all adopters of wild horses and burros. The primary purpose of the workshop is to provide a well-trained, multi-leveled corps of volunteers or mentors to offer their advice and assistance to new adopters of wild horses and burros. The workshop offers a unique experience for wild horse and burro enthusiasts to work together with the BLM to benefit America's Living Legends. According to the Wild Horse & Burro Workshop 2002 website, spectators are welcome at the week-long event to watch and learn. To participate in the actual hands-on experience call Janet Tipton at (801) 554-4431 or visit the "LRTC Wild Horse Mentors' Official Event" website link below.
