Upates to Douglas County Road Closures and River Levels

UPDATE TO DOUGLAS COUNTY ROAD CLOSURES AND KANSAS RIVER AT LAWRENCE In Douglas County, the 200 block of N2190 Rd is still closed due to debris. N2050 Rd between E700 and E800 remain impassable due to high water. 1200 E 2400 Rd is no longer flooded, but some vehicles may have difficulty getting through due to a thick layer of mud left over on the roadway. Burcham Park on the south side of the Kansas River and Riverfront Park on the north side of the Kansas River remain closed. In addition, the East side entrance to the Lakeview subdivision at E1125 and N1876 Rd is reported impassable due to high water. The intersection of 8th and Oak Street is closed as well. The Kansas River at Lawrence is now below flood stage. Douglas County Emergency Management measured the river at 6:30 pm last night and recorded 17.65 feet. Flood Stage is 18 feet. The morning reading of 15.30 marked a continued lowering of the water level.
