Friends of the Kaw Organizing Clean Up Float

Friends of the Kaw is organizing a cleanup float on Saturday, September 8 on the Kansas River between the Rising Sun Access just northwest of the Lecompton Bridge and River Front Park in Lawrence that will be sponsored by Douglas County. The group will meet at River Front Park at 9:00am. Folks interested in participating should call contact the Kansas Riverkeeper for details. For more information on other group floats check out www.kansasriver.com under Floats and Events. Douglas County is contributing funds to help with canoe rental for the float. In addition, Douglas County crews will pick up the collected material from River Front Park.
