Preparedness Fair

09/26/2007
Douglas County Emergency Management and Roger Hill Volunteer Center are taking part in a nationwide coordinated effort to encourage individuals and families to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses and schools. We invite you to participate in that effort. September is National Preparedness Month and we are encouraging the public to be prepared for any emergency. When unexpected natural or man-made emergencies occur, our greatest individual defense is preparedness. Getting an emergency supply kit, making an emergency plan, and identifying preparedness and response resources within our communities are several things we can do to prepare ourselves. On Saturday, September 29th, please join us for the Preparedness Fair. The event will be held from 10am - Noon at the Lawrence Visitor's Center (402 N. 2nd St.). Come to learn what steps to take to better prepare yourself, your business/organization and your family. As a community we need to take the steps necessary to become educated, trained and better prepared, and we urge you to take time this month to do the same at home, work and school. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming Preparedness Fair on Saturday, September 29th from 10am - Noon.
