Public Meeting to be held for 31st Street Concept Study

09/24/2008
The City of Lawrence will hold a public meeting to gather input to help plan improvements to 31st Street from Haskell Avenue to Route 1057 or E 1900 Road. The open house will be Monday, Sept. 29 from 4:30 to 7:30pm at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Building 21, 2110 Harper Avenue. The City of Lawrence and Douglas County are in the process of developing a corridor plan for 31st Street. The goals for the corridor include a facility that satisfies the transportation needs of the community, including pedestrian and bicycle, and preserves environmental natural resources of the area. This open house will gather input from the community on how this facility should develop. Representatives from the City and County, and their engineering consultant, will attend to discuss the project and receive public input.
