Lawrence Man Charged With Multiple Crimes Against a Child

Williams, 28, was charged in Douglas County District Court with two counts of Rape of Child Under 14 Years of Age (off grid/person/felony), Aggravated Criminal Sodomy of a Child Under 14 Years of Age (off grid/person/felony), Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child Under 14 Years of Age (off grid/person/felony) and Sexual Exploitation of a Child (level 5/person/felony). Possible sentencing for the four off grid, felony charges fall under the Jessica's Law sentencing mandate of 25 years to life. Depending on any prior criminal history, the level five felony carries a possible sentence of 31-136 months. Mr. Williams' next court appearance was scheduled for a no-go preliminary hearing on June 23 at 2:00 p.m. in Division Four. Bond was set at $500,000. The charges listed are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. -30-
