Route 1029 to be Closed near Franklin County line for Culvert Replacements

The Douglas County Public Works Department announces that Route 1029 (E 550 Road) between N 1 Road and N 100 Road will be closed to through traffic beginning Tuesday, September 7. A signed detour will be established. The detour will follow N 1 Road, E 400 Road, and N 100 Road. The closure is necessary to allow for replacement of three culverts in this one-mile segment of Route 1029. The department estimates the three culvert replacements will be completed and the road reopened by October 22, weather permitting. Local access to properties within the project limits will be maintained throughout the duration of the project. However, construction activities will dictate the available access direction. Every effort will be made to keep property owners within the project limits informed on available access. Public Works Department crews are constructing all three culvert replacements. Douglas County's Capital Improvement Program is funding one culvert replacement. The other two culvert replacements will be funded from the department's operating budget.
