Lawrence Man Sentenced for Multiple Counts of Rape

RELEASE DATE: 12/22/10 CONTACT INFO: Charles Branson Douglas County District Attorney 785-841-0211 Douglas County District Attorney Charles Branson announces Lawrence resident, Raymond G. Stockton, 43, was sentenced today in the Division Two Courtroom of the Honorable Sally D. Pokorny to 49 years in the custody of the Kansas Department of Corrections for three counts of Rape of a Child Under 14 Years of Age and one count of Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child. The charges stemmed from Mr. Stockton having sexual intercourse with the female victim from the time she was 11 until she was 14. A jury convicted Mr. Stockton of the charges earlier this year. The case was investigated by the Lawrence Police Department and prosecuted by Chief Assistant District Attorney Amy McGowan. -30-
