Man Sentenced to Life for Rape of a Child and Sexual Exploitation

Douglas County District Attorney Charles Branson announces Lawrence resident, Steve A. Williams, 30, was sentenced in the Division Four Courtroom of the Honorable Michael J. Malone to minimum of 25 year to life in prison for Rape of a Child under 14 years of age and Sexual Exploitation of a Child. Investigation into the case began after relatives of Mr. Williams discovered what they believed to be a recording of child pornography at his home. Further investigation into the recording led Lawrence Police Officers to become aware of the victim's rape. The case was prosecuted by District Attorney Charles Branson. -30-
