Economic Development Board to Receive Public Comment on Horizon 2020 Draft Update

A public meeting on the economic development element of the Horizon 2020 plan has been scheduled for Monday June 2, 2003 at 6:30 pm. The meeting will be held at the Douglas County Courthouse at 1100 Massachusetts. A subcommittee of 6-8 Economic Development board members drafted the update to the ED element of the plan. Jean Milstead, Interim CEO of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, said "The subcommittee worked for more than a year to update the plan. We solicited input from residents throughout Douglas County to make sure we were making the needed changes to secure the economic future for our communities." The draft update of the Economic Development element can be found on the Chamber of Commerce-Government/Issues, City of Lawrence and Douglas County web sites. Copies can also be picked up at the Chamber office at 734 Vermont and the Lawrence Public Library at 707 Vermont.
