Lawrence Man Sentenced for Attempted Electronic Solicitation

Douglas County District Attorney Charles Branson announces Willie J. Burtrum, 28, was sentenced yesterday in the Division Two Courtroom of the Honorable Sally D. Pokorny to 233 months in the custody of the Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) for Attempted Electronic Solicitation. Upon release from prison he will be required to register as a sex offender for 25 years. Investigation into the case began when officers with the Lawrence Police Department were alerted that a Douglas County juvenile was being contacted by the defendant in an electronic, sexually inappropriate manner.
