MEMBERS OF D.A.'S OFFICE RECEIVE AWARDS

10/14/2011
Dolores Moseley, Victim/Witness Coordinator for the Douglas County District Attorney's Office was honored last evening by The Willow Domestic Violence Center for her unwavering work for and with the victims of crime. Amy Bradshaw, with The Willow, presented Moseley with a certificate of appreciation during their Take Back the Night event in South Park. Peggy Tillman-Young, a Court Advocate for The Willow, nominated Moseley for the award, "because as a court advocate for The Willow Domestic Violence Center, not only I, but the entire staff appreciates the hard work and dedication she provides domestic violence survivors as they navigate through the criminal justice system. Numerous survivors have voiced their gratitude for her guidance and support." Moseley has worked for the District Attorney's Office for over 26 years. District Attorney Charles Branson was awarded the 2011 Leadership Lawrence's Distinguished Alumni Award on September 29. The award was given to Branson during an alumni luncheon. His wife Kathy and their children Chance and Grace were there to watch him accept his award. According to the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce, "The award is presented annually to recognize an alumnus who exemplifies the spirit and goals of the program. Branson was cited for his commitment to consumer protection, recognition of the special needs of domestic violence survivors and creation of a program to make the legal process less threatening to crime victims." -30-
