DOUGLAS COUNTY COMMISSION LIFTS BURN BAN

Lawrence - The Douglas County Commission has lifted the burn ban for the unincorporated areas of Douglas County due to the recent rainfall experienced in Douglas County. While the burn ban has been lifted, officials warn that dry and windy conditions still exist across Douglas County and burning is highly discouraged. If burning is necessary, individuals should notify their jurisdictional fire department and Douglas County Emergency Communications Center with their intent and location prior to burning and use extreme caution during the burn.
