Saturday Benefit Breakfast at Lawrence's Fire Station 1 to benefit Missouri Children's Burn Camp

Sponsored by the Local 1596 Firefighter's Union in a joint effort with the KC Regional Firefighters' Burn Foundation, a special benefit breakfast will take place at Fire Station 1 in Lawrence, KS from 7am to 11am on Saturday, July 13, 2002. Everyone is welcome to attend, and donations will be accepted for this event from all in attendance. All proceeds benefit the Missouri Children's Burn Camp, which is run by the Burns Recovered Support Group. Please make all checks out to the KC Regional Firefighters' Burn Foundation, an independernt, non-profit volunteer organization established with the goal of assisting in the recovery and rehabilitation of the burn patient. The Missouri Children's Burn Camp is a week-long camp for kids from the Midwest who have unfortunately been struck with serious burns. The camp takes place Aug 5-11, 2002. Campers enjoy biking, swimming, boating, crafts, horseback riding and many other outdoor activities. It is a supportive environment where young burn survivors spend a week with others who have also experienced burn injuries. Fun is the focus and friendships will form quickly. Burn Camp provides campers with some of the best friends they will ever make. After camp, the children will continue on with their lives, but it will be different - they will have new friends and realize they are not the only one with a burn injury.
