Lawrence Man Sentenced for Attempted Murder

Douglas County District Attorney Charles Branson announces Lawrence resident Timothy L. Foster, 40, was sentenced today in the Division Five Courtroom of the Honorable Paula B. Martin to 155 months in the custody of the Kansas Department of Corrections and ordered to pay $11,220.26 in restitution. Mr. Walker plead guilty on January 24 to the original charge of attempted first degree murder of his former wife. They were married at time of the crime. Investigation into the case began on November 29, 2011 when Lawrence Police officers were dispatched to a home in northwest Lawrence. The caller, Mr. Foster, told 9-1-1 that he had stabbed his wife in the back multiple times. Officers entered the home and found Mrs. Foster lying on the floor with multiple stab wounds. The case was investigated by the Lawrence Police Department and prosecuted by D.A. Branson.
