Douglas County Public Works announces that the intersection of N 1500 Road (East 15th Street extended) and Noria Road (E 1750 Road) will be closed from 6:00 PM, Friday, March 21st through Sunday, March 23rd for pavement reconstruction, weather permitting.  The existing chip sealed pavement in the intersection will be removed and replaced with concrete pavement.  In the event of inclement weather March 21-23, construction will be rescheduled to the following weekend, March 28 through March 30.

Douglas County has contracted with King’s Construction, Inc. for this work.  Penny’s Sand, Inc. will reimburse Douglas County for the cost of the work.  This work is required as a condition of Penny’s Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for operation of an off-river sand excavation facility on property north of the intersection.

Additional road work associated with Penny’s CUP conditions includes construction of a right-turn lane for eastbound traffic on Route 442 at Route 1057.  This work will commence on Monday, March 17.  At this location, traffic will be carried through construction using standard temporary traffic control methods. Minimal traffic delays are anticipated during work at the Route 442/Route 1057 intersection.
