Attorneys Required to Utilize E-filing Effective January 5, 2015

Posted on 11/5/2014 3:00:00 PM

Effective January 5, 2015, the Douglas County District Court will require all licensed attorneys to utilize the Kansas Courts Electronic Filing System to submit new cases and documents for filing.  Chief Judge Robert Fairchild issued Administrative Order 14-16 on November 4, 2014.  The order and accompanying memo were distributed to local attorneys this morning.  Non-attorneys will be unable to utilize the e-filing system and will continue to use traditional means of filing cases and documents.

The District Court Clerk, in cooperation with the staff of the Office of Judicial Administration, has previously held two training sessions for attorneys.  One additional session will be scheduled before January 5, 2015.  Attorneys are encouraged to begin using the e-filing system immediately.
